I'm back!

I tried to stay away, but I couldn't. The story I had to tell has been churning inside and yes! at long last I'm back to writing.

This last year has been a lot of changes, but I've settled into my new home and new state, and I'm ready to move forward. But really, I'm also eager to get back out there and find out what all of you are doing now. Please stop in and catch me up!

Brief summary of where I am- I've just started hitting the keyboard to put down the story that's been evolving in my head. I've pretty much ditched the entire first novel I wrote, but I kept the essence of the characters because I liked them. I moved away from my writers' group in South Carolina but after the summer I will try to find a local chapter. I'm looking forward to that because I'm near a big city again and there seems to be a lot of support.

I'm looking forward to getting back into the online writers community because even though it was at times painful, I learned so much from you!

Looking forward to reading your blogs again!

  1. Welcome back, Rose!
I ditched my first story and kept my characters, and it became my first published book - so press on with your rewrite.

    1. That's encouraging! You know, when I started writing and heard most first novels are ditched, I was horrified. It's really just a common theme.

  2. So happy to hear from you! I also ditched my first novel but rewrote some of the characters into another one. Now I have three novels under my writing belt, none published yet, but pressing on. It's a tough business, but write because you love it. There's no other reason.

  3. Welcome back Rose!
I'm busy working on my 26 flash fiction pieces from the 2012 A to Z challenge. I hope to self publish them sometime in the not-too-distant-future...
I'm also working on the outline of a story - but it seems to be taking forever...
    Keep on writing!

  5. Woot! You're back! I'm so glad you are writing again, you sound so positive and excited about your new story idea and it's put a great big smile on my face. :D I've been in and out of the blogosphere lately, I took a month off in April and it's been difficult to get back in, but I'm still writing and like you, I've got a couple projects I'm working on. Looking forward to reading more about your progress!!!!!!
