Transition

"Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." - George Bernard Shaw

I actually really like this quote. Who hasn't at some point realized that everything they thought they knew was totally wrong? I've kind of gone through life learning this lesson over and over again. Guess I had to learn the hard way!

I was hoping to have a book review to post on but because of technical difficulties I still haven't finished. This is why I still prefer the good, old-fashioned paper books. First, my credit card expired, so when I tried updating it, I went into an endless loop on the website and had to play around with it until it finally went through. Then, my charger broke, so the tablet died and I had to wait until I got to the store to buy a new one. Finally, I just consistently forget to charge things, so I pick up my tablet to read only to find it's almost dead and I have to wait until the batteries charged again. Aargh!!

I still just really love the feel of real books anyway. It's comforting to me- like having a cup of hot chocolate on a snowy day!

  1. Sometimes it's a lot of effort to be paperless, isn't it? I got a cool new charger for Christmas that has helped me remember to charge my iPad often. I need to post a photo of it.

  2. I forget to charge my devices, too. (So hard to remember sometimes, especially for the ones I don't use everyday!) Sorry you've had to deal with so many technical difficulties lately!

  5. I like print book well enough, but I've trained myself for enough years to prefer digital books. Between my Kindle, phone, and computer, I can always access those stories. (Plus, there's no chance I'll loose a bookmark.) Too often I go somewhere and leave the print book I intended to read at home.

  6. There is something to be said for the physical book. The cover is much more impactful. You can see how many pages (literally) you have to go, to finish the book. And, if you want to get a sneak peak, you can read a bit before returning to where you are. I like digital books because I feel I'm not wasting paper and I don't have to find a place to store it, until I can give it away to someone else. Technology is hard to count on, sometimes. Found you through the IWSG. Have a good week! www.dianeweidenbenner.com
