That's it! I give up!

No more A to Z blogging for me.  It just wasn't the right time for me and it was getting overwhelming, which meant rather than do the A to Z thing I stopped blogging- period.  So I'll just stop kidding myself and get back to my normal blogging.

Part of what was going on was the momentum I had with my WIP.  I'm actually almost finished!  I'm getting excited to start the process of getting my work out there, which leads me to wonder, where do I start?

I've heard of beta readers- but where do you find them?  Maybe someone out there with experience could share their wisdom.  When you finished your novel, what did you do next?  Start sending queries?  Do the beta reader route?  Pay for a professional critique?

  1. Well, it was nice to read your A to Z posts while you were doing them, and again, I'm so glad that you're doing okay.

There are a lot of options for people when they are done/almost done with their WIP. I've worked with critique partners. I've also brought my stuff to writers conferences to have it reviewed by industry professionals for more feedback. Good luck with what you decide to do.

    1. That's great advice. I really wish I could go to a conference, but I don't have anything local.

  2. Hey, that' life! All about adjusting to what is -- Let the A to Z thing rest and write as you want. I still look forward to seeing your work.
What did I do after I finished my novel? Well, I read another one! Ohhhhhh you meant after I finished writing my novel (sarcasm intended) .....Like I could ever do that. I would celebrate in style!

  3. Congrats on nearing the finish line, Honey!

Well, the first thing I'd do is let the manuscript sit for a week or so, then go back and read the whole thing through out loud. Of course, this takes about 3-4 hours depending on the length of the manuscript. Then when I'm satisfied, I'd let a few people read through it. But I wouldn't start sending out queries before that. But that's just me. Hope it helps. :)
