Hello? Anyone there?

Being new to blogging, I erroneously believed that I would have endless comments, hundreds of followers, and immediately be linked to thousands of bloggers in the infinite cyberspace of my computer.  Ha!  Not so, I'm realizing.  My husband recommended my blogs be shorter, and tonight I'm making him teach me how to post pics.

In the meantime, I forgot to add that I love to cook, but that was not always true.  My favorite cookbook is The Complete Meat Cookbook, and I credit it with transforming my cooking.  It's not just recipes, but a back to the basics on buying and preparing the different cuts of meat.  My favorite is the Southwest spice rub for steaks, always a huge company hit!

Cute kid story-  My four year old yelled out in the car when everyone was trying to talk at once, "I want a piece of quiet!"

  4. Hi and welcome to blogging! Yes, it takes time to build a following, but keep writing and they will come. For me, I found the biggest help to getting readers is going to other people's blogs and interacting with them. The more people you read and whose sites you comment on, the more likely it is you'll have people coming by and checking your stuff out (having a reader like Google Reader also helps you do this efficiently). Finding little communities (like for me, You Capture is one) and participating in their memes, etc. is a really fun and effective way to be active as a blogger and gain readers. Good luck!

  6. Hi there! I follow a lot of RN blogs...and student RN blogs....those, to me are the most interesting!

I have been blogging since last April...one word of caution, careful blogging about work. Some people do it, but I have noticed (with an IP identifier installed on my blog) that my professional body and the government has been visiting my blog....so i don't talk about much from work anymore, especially what I do now...
    ...love your blog! :)

  7. Thanks for joining my blog, and for your warning. I'm terrified to say to much about work, and this is really the first time I've put myself out there on the internet in any form. I've decided to stay away from talking about specific patients or cases, and I've been blogging about everything that crosses my mind, which is not just nursing. But I will definately keep what you said in mind! Thank you and glad you like my blog!
