Blogger Awards!

I've won some blogger awards from fellow blogger Cynthia,

Thank you for thinking of me!  I'm excited to accept my first awards.  The rules were to post 7 facts about myself and then pass on the awards to 7 other bloggers.  Now I just have to figure out some non-boring things about myself!

Let's see:

1.  I took a year of German in school, learned to speak fluent Spanish, but I really wish it was French!

2.  I wanted to live in Africa, but it was too expensive to fly there, so I ended up in South America.

3.  I've died and been resuscitated.  (Yeah it's true)

4.  I love to go camping, especially at the beach.

5.  I'm constantly rescuing animals, including a baby Canadian goose, two baby raccoons, a baby squirrel, and of course the usual dogs and cats.  (The goose was cool because it followed me around our apartment and rested on my foot every time I stopped.  We turned it in the next day to a wildlife rescue.)

6.  I don't really like chocolate.  (Weird huh?)  But I do love ice cream, mostly strawberry.

7.  I love to cook and bake, but not everyday.

Now to pass on the awards to 7 fellow bloggers:

Emily Rose

Lola Sharp

Living a Dream

Judie

Write tuit

Gail

Anna

So I pass on these awards to these fellow bloggers whom I've chosen for your lovely blogs and encouraging comments on mine.

  1. My former boss wanted me to learn German when I was an import broker so he gave me some tapes. I played them in the car while hauling the kids around. They learned German and I didn't!!

I used to have dreams about living in Africa.

Lately, I've been feeling like I've died and gone to hell.

I have a rescue dog named Mulligan, because we gave him a second chance.

If someone gives you chocolate, please send it to me. Doing some baking? Ditto on the sending.

Thanks for the awards! It was very thoughtful!

  2. I enjoyed reading your fun facts, Honey. Did you have an out-of-body experience when you were out before you were resuscitated? I like to cook too...bake sometimes...I like eating baked goods though!

    1. No, no out-of-body experience. The only reason I knew what happened was everyone was panicking when I came to. I still have the marks of the EKG patches on my chest where they ripped my tan off! Just an eerie reminder when I look in the mirror.

  4. That is so sweet of you to think of me! Thank you!
I used to love strawberry ice cream, but now I prefer sorbet - either lime or apricot.

  5. First, THANK YOU. I'm honored and grateful. And CONGRATS on your well deserved awards. (I still remember who gave me my very first award...and we're still bloggy and twitter friends two years later.)

Okay, now let's get down to business. YOU DON'T LIKE CHOCOLATE????!? How is this possible? Weird? YES. ;)

And, what made you die? (thank goodness you were brought back) And, it was recent enough that you still can see the patch marks?

Also, I cannot tell you how many animals I've rescued and hand fed and nursed. Some were released back into the wild. Some had to go to a zoo/wild life center for the rest of their lives (because of permanent damage, like a wing), some have become pets. (our cat for example was a 4 week old stray with a hole in her neck and a broken tail and emaciated. All skin and fur and bones and bulging eyes. She's FAT and happy now. But her tail still has a kink and she has the scar on her neck, 2 years later.)

Have a great week. Thanks again. :)
    Hugs,
    Lola

    1. You're so welcome, you have an awesome blog! And I love your long comment:)
Let's see- About the chocolate? I don't know why, I just would rather have a pickle! In fact, I usually don't tell people I don't like chocolate, lest they think less of me!
I turned out to have severe, undiagnosed hypothyroidism. A very common problem (I take daily medicine now), but it makes you susceptible to anesthesia, sedatives, and narcotics. It happened last November- so it's still fresh in my mind.
So, so cool you rescue animals. Thankfully there are people like you in this world:)
Same back at you about hugs and having a great week!!
